Release notes xxter update 4.0.0

Two new main features
• Smart Energy Manager
• Dynamic Elements

Smart Energy Manager
With the Smart Energy Manager of xxter, you can optimize your power consumption to be more self-sufficient and lower your energy bill. You can use xxter to schedule and balance your energy endpoints (devices that consume energy), based on the available power, current pricing conditions and your power needs.

The xxter Smart Energy Manager, combines all available data, to manage your energy more smart. For example it uses weather forecast information to predict the production of your solar panels, it can use spot prices to schedule smart charging of your car, and much more.

More information can be found in the Smart Energy Manager manual, which is available on the documentation page.

Dynamic Elements
You can now for most elements select if the element is always displayed, or only under certain conditions. Or you can disable the element based on the status of a component. This allows you to, for example, hide elements when the alarm is turned on, or only show certain error messages (text elements) when a device is in error state.

Other changes:

• New option for dimmers, to disable "tap" for on/off

• New LUA function: xxter.getusername(). This function returns the username of the user which triggered the script to start (when available)

• RTSP streams are now change default to connect to TCP. If you have an UDP RTSP stream, you can select this in the camera settings. This should improve connecting times for RTSP streams.

• OCPP car charger support for RFID tags

• You can now copy an element on a page to the same page, or to another page. This will copy all settings of the element.

• Online you can now see which devices have KNX recorder telegrams available. Go to your devices list. Grey icon means telegrams available, blue icon means recent telegrams available).

• You can now select a preferred design for your profile, when the profile is loaded for the first into the app, the app will automatically select this design.

• Web interface of the device now automatically returns to the login screen when you are logged out.

• iOS: The scenes and pages available in the "Shortcuts" app are now published based on your latest selection in the xxter app. So if you want to use a scene in the shortcut app, call it first in the xxter app, and next go to the shortcut app, where it should then be available.

• You can now upload statistics to the my.xxter cloud and download them as CSV to process further if you want. This requires or a xxter connect subscription, or a BREEAM license.

• RTC object status values can now be read by a KNX read telegram, it will respond with the current value. (For most objects this is now the case, to enable this, edit existing RTC's in beta.xxter.com once and reload the project into your xxter)

• Date / time telegram with DPT 19.001 is now supported (generic project settings)

• You can now set the date / time of the xxter through date / time telegrams as well, for example if you have a KNX GPS device, and no internet time available.

• The logic schematics you have made are now available as a preview on beta.xxter.com when you "hover" above the schematic, and you can now see which logic block are loaded in the xxter itself by opening the scripts page on the web interface of the xxter.

• The device does not support TLS 1.0 and 1.1 anymore, so old app verions might not work anymore. (Security improvement)

• BREEAM: new table and chart option: weeks per year period added.

• New image element for image pages.

• Support for animated GIF images, for e.g. the new image element

• To recognize the different mobile devices and windows/mac clients better, you can now change the device name in the app under preferences.

• Many bug fixes

Release notes xxter update 3.2.0

- New feature: Weather forecast information (see separate article below)
- New feature: Time trigger options and weather forecast as triggers for actions
    - Time triggers and conditions can be used, directly in the conditions, without the need to use a separate planner. For example check at 7:00 if the sun is already up or not, and turn on the outside light if not.
    - Weather forecast info can be used as conditions. An example: check at 8:00 in the morning (new trigger option) if the next 20 hours it will become above 28 degrees Celsius, and turn on an addition ventilation setting.
Or check at 4:00 if there is rain expected this day to determine if the garden sprinklers should be turned on or not.
- New feature: KNX recorder (see separate article below)
- New feature: Modbus TCP support. The xxter can now be a Modbus client, to read data from Modbus servers (at this moment only Modbus TCP is supported) (see separate article below)
- New feature: BACnet server option available (see separate article below)
- Support for Dahua and Hikvision IP camera’s, including PTZ controls.
Use the my.xxter.com website to select these types of IP camera’s and set the corresponding fields. You can select if the camera supports PTZ or not.
- Include LUA scripts as libraries into your other LUA scripts
You can create common used functions into one LUA script, which can be included into other scripts. This make live easier for our LUA enthousiasts!

- on my.xxter.com you can now import ETS6 KNXproj files which are protected by a password.
- on my.xxter.com you can now duplicate a RTC, which copies all parameter settings, not group addresses.
- on my.xxter.com you can now see until when a subscription is valid
- The app's have a new main menu. Several of the menu options will be shown / hidden, depending on the rights the local user (see the role settings on my.xxter.com) and the preferences in the app. These can be found under preferences.
- New HVAC options for the thermostat component in a V2 project. This component now supports ventilation, and HVAC control modi, for airconditioners. When the HVAC control modi are used, the HVAC modi will not be usable / displayed. To use these new features, you need 1) the latest firmware, 2) a V2 project with the corresponding settings, and 3) the latest app’s.
- The firmware send any found HUE lights and groups to the my.xxter.com environment, to make them easier to integrate.
- On my.xxter.com: for HUE as well as Modbus, it is now possible to add the elements directly into the component list, select the corresponding buttons at the top-right to display the available options.
- Employee rights setup has been made more clear
- Project V2: KNX temperatures can now be used to create a thermostat component directly from the KNXproj overview section.
- On the status page of the web interface, you can now see (after the second time login since boot of the device) how many failed login attempts have been made and from where (and when) the last successful login was made.
- The “variable text” element can now directly show meta data from Sonos devices, without using the uPnP option. (On my.xxter.com)
- On my.xxter.com the device’s external IP address is listed (for the professional).
- HTTP commands have been extended. In addition to GET commands, other HTTP commands can now be sent as well, including a body.
It is also possible to analyse / use the result given by the command, when using a LUA script. The function calling the command will return with the contents of the call.
- New option to force the KNX tunnel connection to use KNXnet/IP core version 1 with only UDP support. (So TCP port-forwarding is not required)
- several bugfixes

Release notes xxter update 3.1

This is the first update which is only available for the Hx02 devices.

Important information
Because the data model has changed as well in the firmware, the device needs to reload the configuration from the server after updating the firmware. This should happen automatically after the firmware update. Please be patient after the first reboot, and wait about 2 minutes after reboot, to have the device update the configuration and add the missing parts from the server.

Changes

• New firmware core. The core of the firmware has been completely rewritten, including the data models.

• Complete integration with the KNX tool software from BEMI. (See below)

• New project V2: on my.xxter a new project version is available with several improvements, see explanation below.

• The xxter can now function as a KNX router.

• Support for KNX IP secure: for KNX tunnel access as well as the new KNX routing functionality. A password can be set for the KNXnet/IP tunnels when IP secure is enabled.

• Support for blinds with position control, slats/tilt etc. (requires a V2 project)

• Support for dimmers with color temperature (requires a V2 project)

• Support for several new KNX DPT’s for RGB control

• Support for a new thermostat control, without using the internal RTC module.

• New option (under preferences) to enter screen cleaning mode in the app.

• Improved user flow when using the QR codes of the xxterBnB / xxter Hotel solutions.

• Executing large scenes will be handled differently: we differentiate between user initiated scenes and automated initiated scenes. When the user starts the scene (from the app or by a KNX button for example), there will be no difference compared to the previous firmware versions. When the scene is started from an automation (script, schedule e.g.) the components in the scene will be process in batches of 10, which a pause in between. This to prevent problems on busy KNX busses to assure all components can always be executed.

• Several online improvements, including better validation of camera settings.

• Improvement of local device backups, and loading local backup data when the main configuration cannot be loaded.

• Hue groups bug fix

• RTC fix for saving the changed comfort temperature to flash.

• Doorbird trigger improvement

• SecureAPI has been updated (only for specific projects)

• several bugfixes.

Some of the above changes are highlighted below, with additional information:

BEMI KNX tool integration
We have started a collaboration with BEMI in Finland, to make the programming of KNX and xxter even easier and better!
When using the KNX Design and Planning Tool (https://www.bemi.fi/knx-management-tool/) with xxter, in addition to all the BEMI functionality, you have the following extra options:

• create xxter projects and profiles based on the KNX tool project.

• synchronize your xxter project and profile with the KNX tool project.

This will automatically create rooms, components (including all group addresses), pages, set up default icons (for example for sockets) and save you valuable time!
An separate manual is available on our documentation page: https://www.xxter.com/en/documentatie/

Project V2
There is a new project version available for the components in the project:

Project version 2, only has changes in the components page of the project.
There are three components which are changed:

• For every element, the corresponding DPT is shown

• Dimmer
Instead of a two separate components (one for switching and one for dimming) these can now be set up in one component.
Also there is an option for color temperature for example for some DALI lights.

• Blinds
Same as for the dimmer, now all group addresses can be entered in one element, and it also has several new options (position and tilt control)

• RGB
Several new DPT’s are supported now, for example RGB in one telegram, or XY support for DALI.

There is one component which is deprecated now: shift (now part of the new thermostat element)
There is one new component:

• Thermostat
A thermostat uses the same control element in the app as the RTC element, but uses some standard objects to set / get the corresponding values. This element can be used in combination with many brands of thermostat controllers.

Project v2 can only be used with the 3.1 firmware.

KNX IP Secure
The xxter now support KNX IP secure for the tunnel connections, this allows safe programming of KNX devices and monitoring remotely.
Also there are several other new KNX settings on the protocol settings page, for example to set a password for the KNX IP Secure tunnel connections.
The tunnel connections now use different physical addresses as well, and do not share the physical address of xxter anymore.

KNX router
The xxter can now be used as a KNX IP router. The router settings can be found under KNX on the protocol settings page of the device.
Several standard filter options are available as well as custom filter options: for example you can select for the IP to TP (twisted pair) the “pass all through except” option and enter manually several group addresses to block (or vice versa): 1/0/*, 4/*/* will in this case filter all group addresses which start with 1/0/… or 4/…

The updated KNX module is also compatible with the new ETS6.
