Release notes xxter update 4.3

KNX Data secure

  • On the protocol page you can setup KNX data secure, you can choose between 'Disabled', 'Enforcing', 'Permissive'. Enforcing means it will send KNX GA's encrypted when it has a key, and will only allow receiving of the GA's when correctly encrypted. Permissive means, it will send KNX data secure when possible, but will also allow non encrypted GA's. This can be very useful when tracking down KNX Data secure issues.
  • All required keys are automatically set, when you use the DCA or reupload your KNXproj file online
  • When a Group Address in ETS is set to secure, the xxter Controller will use it secure, this is determined automatically after the configuration including the secure GA is loaded on the xxter controller.

KNXprod + DCA app for ETS

  • You can now use our KNXprod + DCA to setup the components in ETS
  • The DCA can be used to automatically synchronize the ETS application with the xxter cloud. This works two ways, so you can make changes in ETS, and synchronize to set them on the xxter cloud. Or you can make changes online, synchronize to see them in ETS as well. Programming of the device itself still goes through our cloud.
  • Required for KNX data secure, because the security keys and the physical address must be known to use KNX data secure, make sure to have the correct KNX physical address set in the xxter and the ETS project for the xxter device
  • We recommend to make a backup of your xxter project, before using the DCA and ETS synchronization
  • The DCA includes a help file on how the DCA works, in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Dutch.
  • The KNXprod and DCA work with both ETS5 and ETS6.

Here you can find a small summary on how to setup the DCA: How to install DCA

MQTT support

Support for:

  • MQTT client
  • MQTT Broker (incl websocket support)
  • MQTT proxy - to forward to another Broker
  • MQTT and MQTTS supported

MQTT is a light weight protocol used a lot with dashboards. For example you can use Thingsboard to collect data from your installation.

Here you can find a document with how to implement this, and where you find which settings.
